March Diversity and Inclusion Corner Spotlight – Tropical Nut and Fruit

Spotlight3tropical Tell SHFM members a little about yourself:
I have been working in the Food Industry for the last 13 years with Tropical Nut & Fruit, and I am currently our Business Development Manager. It’s been a great career move for me getting to combine my passion for food and snacks with my employment. My husband graduated from CIA and he is an Executive Chef of a local catering company in Charleston, SC. We really enjoy going out to great restaurants in our community. We have two daughters, both in college at Winthrop University and at the University of South Carolina, and we have two dogs that keep us busy. What inspires you?
I had the privilege to attend a private women’s college, Cottey College in MO, on a full scholarship granted from PEO, a women’s Philanthropic Educational Organization. It’s very important to me to support diversity and inclusion in our industry and in business. What does Women’s History Month mean to you?
It’s inspiring to learn about all the women who have advanced before me. My company is proud to be a women owned business. There is always more work to be done, but the future definitely looks bright!
